Alex Quian is the Youth Empowerment Program Officer at The Allstate Foundation, where he leads national grantmaking and program strategies to empower youth (ages 5-25) to serve and improve communities. This mission is deeply personal to Alex; in 2019, he completed 30 service projects in 30 days, impacting over 1,800 people and mobilizing 150 volunteers.
Motivated by this transformative experience, Alex founded a nonprofit at age 21 to help youth develop personally and professionally. Seeking to empower other youth to serve communities, he authored "Better Together: How 30 Days of Service Changed My Life," a book that offers blueprints for service projects and shares valuable lessons from his journey.

The conversation will center around new national research from The Allstate Foundation and Gallup exploring how youth-led service builds career readiness, connection and resilience. This session will frame investment in employee volunteerism, especially for interns and early career professionals, as a highly effective workforce development strategy for companies. The Talk will also encourage HR leaders to re-evaluate how they value volunteer experiences on resumes.
