Dr. Pamela Puryear currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Zimmer Biomet, a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare. She joined Zimmer Biomet in January 2019 and is responsible for leading the global Human Resources function and serves as a member of the President and CEO’s Leadership Team.Prior to joining Zimmer Biomet, Dr. Puryear was Senior Vice President and Chief Talent Officer at Pfizer. She joined Pfizer from Hospira Inc., where she served as Vice President, Organization Development and Chief Talent Officer. Before joining Hospira, Dr. Puryear was an independent external organizational development consultant. Dr. Puryear spent the first 10 years of her career in financial services in the real estate investment advisor industry.Dr. Puryear’s leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including 2017 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America and 2017 Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Business from Black Enterprise Magazine, the 2016 Trailblazer Award from the National Associate of African Americans in Human Resources, Illinois’ Most Powerful and Influential Women from the Illinois Diversity Council as well as the Learning In Practice Award from Chief Learning Officer Magazine, among many more.Dr. Puryear holds a Ph.D. in organizational psychology, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in organizational behavior from Yale University.
