Hello San Antonio

Take me to the river.

A new year, a new Workhuman® Live. And if you’ve been before, you know well and good that it’s all about the experience – and that’s not just inside the walls of whatever venue we’re in. It’s the city we choose. And San Antonio is a special one. Of course, you’ll see a lot of the local flavor woven into the design of our space and especially in Workhuman® Central. In Nashville, it was all about great music, hot chicken, and woodblock prints. With San Antonio, you’ll notice nods to the famous River Walk, the military influence, the cultural delight of Fiesta, and the delicious fact that this city is also a celebrated foodie destination. Let the humanity flow!

The River Walk
The River Walk is just what it sounds like – a promenade lined with shops, historic theatres, bars, boat rides, the occasional parade, and more.

Military City
Proud of its military heritage, San Antonio has one of the largest concentrations of military bases in the U.S., with 39,000 students graduating annually from military training. It also houses the Department of Defense’s largest medical center.

Fiesta
Lack of culture? Not here. San Antonians celebrate their rich heritage with vibrant parades, culinary events, and lively, local entertainment. You might notice the beautiful medals they collect to show off their San Antonio pride. And in 1891, the initial celebration to honor the heroes from the Battle of the Alamo has since transformed into the largest city-wide party with a purpose, April’s Fiesta.

Food
There’s that, too. In 2017, San Antonio solidified its status as an international culinary destination with a Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO designation. So, come hungry. We know there are a ton of foodies in this Workhuman tribe and we hope you’ll live it up and sample some of the local flavors.

Henry B. Gonzalés Convention Center

In the heart of San Antonio’s historic downtown and along the banks of the River Walk sits the Henry B. González Convention Center, a hallmark of the city’s booming convention industry. Named for the late U.S. Congressman Henry B. González, the LEED Silver Certified venue hosts more than 300 events each year with over 750,000 convention delegates from around the world.

When we first saw this place, we knew it was perfect for Workhuman Live. Everything is walkable – the River Walk and all its delights are right outside, and inside is an ideal space filled with art and laid out so that our immersive experience will come to life in the best way.
