Fresh out of college in the 80s, Steve Gross created a program for homeless and impoverished children in Greater Boston that enabled even the city’s most vulnerable children to experience the joys of childhood. His focus on helping childcare professionals use playful engagement as a vehicle for building healing, life-changing relationships with the children in their care caught the attention of some of the nation’s leading trauma experts and by the early 90s, Steve was called upon to lead widespread healing efforts for communities impacted by war, natural disaster, gun violence, poverty, addiction, and illness across the world.
Years later, Steve partnered with The Life is Good Company to create the Life is Good Playmakers. The mission of the Life is Good Playmakers is to harness the power of optimism to create healing, life changing relationships with some of the most frightened and vulnerable members of society.
In his inspiring, engaging, and thought-provoking virtual keynote, Gross explains why optimism is the single most important trait a person can have, especially in navigating challenging and change-filled times like these. By incorporating research and personal stories from the field, Gross explores the optimism-based strategies that have helped some of the most vulnerable communities thrive, and explains how audiences can apply them in a personal and professional capacity.
