What to know before you go

Kickoff for Workhuman® Live is just around the corner! Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your conference experience.

Before the conference

Staying in San Diego

Take advantage of city skyline and ocean views at the hotels near the conference center. Visit our travel and housing page to see our hotel blocks and explore your transportation options. Our discounted hotel rates may have ended, but you’re encouraged to stay at the same hotels as your fellow attendees.

Bringing a friend

The Workhuman Live experience is best when shared with a friend (or a few). Groups of 2-4 are eligible for our Bring a Friend discount (10% off!). Select the general attendee ticket, add up to four group members, and use promo code WHL23-BAF10.

Want to bring more than five people? Larger groups are eligible for our Teams package. Check out your options here.

Still looking for a buddy to join you? Share that you’ll be at Workhuman Live (and don’t forget to mention that discount!).

What to pack

We want to make sure you’re prepared for all that Workhuman Live has to offer. Here are our recommendations for what to pack for your time in San Diego:

  • Clothes: Attire is business casual (see next section for more details). Be sure to pack whatever attire you might want to wear outside the conference, like workout clothes, swimwear, sunglasses, and dinner attire.
  • Business items: You’ll want to download the Workhuman Live mobile app to keep track of your sessions, so be sure to keep your phone with you. It’s always wise to have your favorite note-taking tool on hand, as well as chargers and adaptors.

During the conference

What to wear

Business casual is the name of the game for Workhuman Live. Keep in mind that San Diego will be warm but conference centers can get cold, so layers will be useful both inside and out. Of course, wear whatever you like for non-conference activities.

When it comes to footwear, opt for function over fashion. There’s so much to do and see at the conference that you’ll be glad you did!

Checking in

To check into the conference, go to the lobby of Hall E, verify or update the information on your badge, and pick up your badge at the door to Workhuman Central. Your name badge serves as entry to all conference functions, including evening events.

We will post the registration desk hours closer to the event.

Attending special events

If you are attending a Workhuman Live event that takes place outside of the San Diego Convention Center, please ensure you have your badge with you. As part of our safety policy, anyone without a badge will not be allowed into the special event.

Staying safe

San Diego is one of the safest cities of its size in the United States. However, as with any large city, we encourage you to stay aware of your surroundings. We recommend walking in pairs or groups after nightfall, or taking a bus, train, or rideshare if you don’t have access to a vehicle.

For more information about our health and safety policy, click here.

If you have any questions or concerns while you’re on-site, you can email registration@workhumanlive.com or flag down anyone wearing a Workhuman Live shirt.

After the conference

Watching on-demand content

Whether you want to catch some sessions you missed or just want to relive the magic, you’ll be able to do so with on-demand content after the conference. A replay page recapping Workhuman Live’s biggest moments and sessions will go live after the event (accessible only by event registrants).

Claiming your credits

Workhuman Live offers more professional development credits than other HR conferences. To claim your credits, go to the Claim Credits page on workhumanlive.com, find the Workhuman Live San Diego event, and follow the steps outlined.
